Our Story

Hi there! Welcome to our hive!

Goldenrod Grove is located in Fairfax, Vermont, where we are surrounded by wildlife & wildflowers.

Hanging out with the girls on a warm summer day. I spend hours watching them work & listening to them sing!

I’m Caitlin, the queen bee of our happy little family.

My beekeeping journey began when my husband, Chris, asked what I wanted for my 30th birthday. While most women may ask for a weekend away or fancy jewelry, I asked for bees.

“…Bees? Are you serious?” Chris looked at me skeptically with his eyebrows raised into his hairline, surely flashing back to the one time I accidentally released 1500 ladybugs in the house.

“Yeah! It would be a fun new hobby, don’t you think?” I replied, smiling ear to ear.

I’ve always had a deep love for wildlife ecology, conservation, and sustainability, and what began as a small beekeeping hobby quickly grew into my greatest joy. I’m endlessly fascinated by the hive — the way bees live in harmony, care for one another, and work tirelessly toward a shared purpose. They remind me daily to be kind, stay curious, and live gently on this beautiful planet we call home.

Bees are often misunderstood creatures — feared for their sting, yet full of quiet wisdom and generosity. Through their hard work, they pollinate native plants, nourish our gardens, and support the crops that feed us all.

What inspires my work most is how much these tiny creatures give. Honey offers natural relief for seasonal allergies, soothes sore throats, and nourishes the skin with its antimicrobial and healing properties. Beeswax, another gift from the hive, is a clean, sustainable ingredient that locks in moisture, protects skin, and replaces synthetic materials in countless everyday products.

Through Goldenrod Grove, I hope to honor the bees by crafting simple, natural goods that celebrate their gifts — and by helping others reconnect with the small wonders of nature.

Thank you for stopping by, for reading, and for your support!

Much love,

Cait
